Logline: When a professional dancer is unexpectedly fired from a pop star’s national tour, she is forced to return home to LA and face the music of what she left behind.

Synopsis: AVA, a backup dancer on pop star EZRA’s tour, spirals into a moment of panic mid-show. Quick flashes hint at a steamy, shadowy encounter. Once’s she is back home, rumors say she was fired. She returns to find her bedroom taken over by her step-sister CHLOE, and is stuck on the couch with only her best friend GRIFFIN in her corner. Our first episode explores ANXIETY: performance anxiety, social anxiety, self-doubt.

Thank you for contributing to our campaign. Every dollar will go towards the making of this passion project of ours as we aim to pitch it wider, and create a full 8 episode series, centering on relatable hardships of professional dancers unique to our ensemble characters’ lives. We hope to portray the reality of what a professional dancer's life might look like today in Hollywood, as professional dancers ourselves. We will explore universal themes, such as: coming-of-age, betrayal, and reconnecting to one's community. We aim to explore the opaque power dynamics within the dance world, and create conversation around how we can improve our standards as performance artists for social change. xx
